E241 machine taps for metric coarse threads are a member of the “Shark line” family. All “Shark line” taps have a colored ring on the shank to let you know which material the tap should be used to cut. The E241 has a blue ring which means it should be used to create threads in stainless steel. The Super-B special coating on these taps is designed to increase tool life and improve performance when threading harder materials. The taps conform to the German Institute for Standardization and are manufactured from powder metal High Speed cobalt, further enhancing the performance and tool life, whilst the spiral point design makes the E241 taps good for threading holes which go all the way through the workpiece.
