The E384 “Shark line” taps follow color coding rules to show in an easy way what material to thread with the taps. For the E384, the blue ring means the taps are ideal for threading stainless steel. The taps are manufactured using premium powder metal High Speed cobalt to ensure longer tool life and great performance. The taps are designed with a spiral point, making them ideal for holes which go all the way through the workpiece (through holes). The taps are manufactured to conform to the German Institute for Standardization and have a steam tempered finish, giving you cleaner more accurate holes by ensuring workpiece material will not stick to the cutting edge.
