E550 hand taps create British Standard taper pipe (Rc series) threads. They are manufactured conforming to the International Standardization Organization and manufactured from premium High Speed steel for better performance and longer life. A clean, accurate thread is achieved thanks to the bright finish which prevents workpiece material from sticking to the cutting edge of the tool. E550 taps are designed with straight flutes which makes them suitable for threading both through and blind holes. With a large range of materials which can be threaded, including steels, aluminium and stainless steel, and available in sizes ranging from one eighth of an inch to two inches, E550 taps are very versatile.
