The A405 taper shank drill is recommended for creating counter-bored clearance holes for standard metric threads. The A405 has a steam oxide finish which prevents workpiece material from sticking to the tool and is made from High Speed steel so it can be used to drill a variety of materials including steels, stainless steel and aluminium. The A405 is very versatile, being suitable for both conventional and CNC machining, and can also be used in applications where the drill is held directly in the spindle.
