The A237 metric centre drill is designed to start a precise hole in the end of a shaft so the shaft can be securely held prior to machining. The A237 has a bright finish to prevent workpiece material from sticking to the cutting edge. It comes with a 118 degree point angle and a 60 degree countersink which machines a cone in the workpiece to be used to hold that end of the workpiece shaft securely. The premium High Speed cobalt used to manufacture the A237 means it can be used to drill many materials including steels, aluminium and stainless steel. The shank is flatted on one side and the A237 can be used with special chamfering adapters. The A237 is very versatile and cost effective as it is double ended and can be used in both conventional and CNC machines.
