The A412 from Dormer has a 118 degree point angle on the drill pilot wi a 90 degree chamfer and is designed to drill chamfered clearance holes for standard metric threads. To make it easy to select the correct size to create a hole to apply the thread, the drill diameters are specified in metric coarse thread form sizes. Just choose the metric thread form diameter to match the thread you want to create in the hole and you can be sure you have the correct clearance and depth for standard threads. The A412 has a steam oxide finish to help stop workpiece material from sticking to the tool and is manufactured from High Speed steel which means it can be used to drill many materials including stainless steel, aluminium and various steels. It is suitable for both CNC and conventional machines.
