Dormer’s PFX range of extra long drills is further enhanced with the A952 drills which are available in diameters from 8.00 mm to 40.00 mm. These drills have a specially designed parabolic flute which makes it possible to drill extra deep holes in a single go – no need to keep taking the drill out to clear the swarf and then drilling a little deeper (pecking). The drills are made from premium High Speed steel so they can be used to drill a great many materials including aluminium, steels and stainless steel. The tools have a 130 degree point which is self-centering, so stops the point from skidding over the surface of the workpiece and also means less force than a normal point is needed to drill into the workpiece. The bright finish on the drills stops workpiece material from sticking to the cutting edge, so giving you a more accurate hole with a better finish. The taper shank on the A952 drills means they can be held directly in the spindle for machine applications, making them very versatile drills.
