With their straight flute design the E102 serial hand taps have the versatility to tap both through holes and blind holes (which stop part way through the workpiece) and are ideal for hand tapping tough materials including steels and other heat resistant materials. They are manufactured to conform to the German Institute for Standardization. The premium High Speed cobalt steel used in manufacture means these taps will give you superior performance with a longer tool life, whilst the bright finish ensures a good, accurate thread by making sure workpiece material does not stick to the cutting edge of the tap. E102 taps are available in sizes from M3 to M30 in a set of three separate taps (serial taps) which you should use one after the other to create the same thread, with each tap creating a slightly more accurate thread with a slightly less tapered bottom to the hole.
