E201 machine taps are part of Dormer’s “Shark line” range – with color coded rings for the material they cut. In this case, the E201 taps have a white ring which makes them great for creating metric coarse threads in short chipping materials such as cast iron. The E201 taps meet the requirements of the German Institute for Standardization and are manufactured from powder metal High Speed cobalt which provides superior performance and extends the life of the tools. The taps have a straight flute design which makes them suitable for threading both blind and through holes, whilst the steam tempered finish gives you a clean and accurate thread by making sure workpiece material does not stick to the cutting edge of the tap.
