The E238 machine taps for metric coarse threads are part of Dormer’s “Shark line” range – with color coded rings for the material they cut. With a blue ring on the shank, the E238 taps have been designed specifically for creating threads in stainless steel. Conforming to the German Institute for Standardization, the taps are manufactured from powder metal High Speed cobalt to give a superior performance and extended tool life, whilst the steam tempered finish prevents workpiece material from sticking to the cutting edge of the tool, so creating a cleaner, more accurate thread. With a spiral flute design, the E238 Blue Shark taps are perfect for threading blind holes.
