The E239 machine taps belong to Dormer’s “Shark line” range – with color coded rings to show which material to use them for. The blue ring on the shank tells you visually that the E238 taps have been designed specifically for creating threads in stainless steel so no worries about using them in the wrong workpiece material. The taps are for metric coarse threads and have a special, Super-B coating which gives you a longer life with improved performance when threading harder materials. E239 taps are manufactured from premium powder metal High Speed cobalt adding to the improved performance and tool life. The taps are manufactured to conform to the German Institute for Standardization and come with a spiral flute design for creating threads in blind holes.
