Description

The E251 is a machine tap for producing left hand metric threads and is manufactured to conform to the German Institute for Standardization. The straight flute design means the tap will thread both holes which go all the way through the workpiece and also holes which stop part way through (blind holes), whilst the bright finish means workpiece material will not stick to the cutting edges of the tool, so ensuring a more accurate thread (to H12 tolerance). With a longer tool life and superior performance, thanks to the powder metal High Speed cobalt from which it is manufactured, the E251 is available in sizes from M12 to M24 and is recommended for threading many materials including steels, stainless steel and aluminium.
