E252 machine taps for metric coarse threads are part of Dormer’s “Shark line” family and have a colored ring on the shank so you know which material the tap should be used to cut. The white ring on the E252 tells you it has been designed specifically for tapping short chipping materials like cast irons. E252 taps have a steam tempered finish to produce a more accurate thread by preventing workpiece material from sticking to the cutting edge of the tool. They are manufactured from powder metal High Speed cobalt which improves performance and extends the life of the tool, whilst the spiral flute design makes the E252 suitable for threading both through and blind holes. The E252 White Shark taps are available in sizes from M8 to M24.
