Introducing another member of the “Shark Line” set of machine taps from Dormer, the E260 tap for metric coarse threads has a colored red ring on the shank. From the ring on Shark Line taps, you can see at a glance which taps should be used to threads which materials. The red ring on the E260 shows the tap is designed specifically for tapping high alloy steels like tool steels. Manufactured to conform to the German Institute for Standardization, E260 taps are made from powder metal High Speed cobalt so will provide superior performance with an extended tool life. The bright finish on the tools will ensure a more accurate finish by preventing workpiece material from sticking to the cutting edge of the tool. E260 “Red Shark” taps have a spiral flute for threading blind holes and are available in sizes from M3 to M20.
