For producing unified fine threads (UNF), the E278 machine tap from Dormer is manufactured to conform to the German Institute for Standardization. It has a bright finish, giving cleaner, more accurate threads by ensuring workpiece material does not stick to the cutting edges of the tool, whilst the powder metal High Speed cobalt used in manufacturing gives you improved performance and extended tool life. The E278 has a straight flute design making it suitable for threading both blind and through holes. Available in sizes from 5/16 of an inch to one and a half inches, the E278 can be used to thread a wide range of materials including steels, stainless steel and aluminium.
