Part of Dormer’s “Shark Line” series of taps, with color coded rings to indicate the material suitability, the E471 machine tap has a green ring around the shank, showing it is best suited for threading non-ferrous materials such as aluminium. The tap is manufactured from powder metal High Speed cobalt which provides superior performance with extended tool life. The bright finish prevents workpiece material from sticking to the cutting edge ensuring a clean and accurate thread, whilst the spiral point makes the tap great for threading holes all the way through the workpiece. Manufactured to conform to the German Institute for Standardization, the E471 metric coarse taps are supplied in sizes from M3 to M20.
