Description

The E524 hand tap is used to create Unified Fine threads. They are manufactured conforming to the International Standards Organization and are made from High Speed steel to give good performance and tool life. The bright finish stops workpiece material from sticking to the cutting edge, so giving a more accurate, cleaner thread. The straight flute design means the E524 taps can be used to thread both through and blind holes. Suitable for a wide range of materials, including steels, stainless steel and aluminium, the E524 taps are available in three different chamfers of a taper (No 1), a second or plug (No 2) and a bottom tap (No 3), which can be used in sequence to create a more accurate thread.
