They have a bright finish which produces a cleaner, more accurate thread by preventing workpiece material from sticking to the cutting edge of the tool. The gun nosed geometry is designed to direct chips away from the cutting edges whilst increased performance and longer tool life is further enhanced33 thanks to the High Speed steel used in manufacture.
