Consisting of a single machine tap matched with a suitable sized drill, the L002 Tap-Drill set means you don’t have to worry about whether you’ve got the right drill for the tap you want. Supplied in a case with a clear plastic lid, the L002 set covers your machine threading needs for threads all the way through the material

The tap in the set is our E000 machine tap for metric coarse threads with a bright finish to reduce build of workpiece material along the cutting edge. It is manufactured from powder metal high speed cobalt, which makes it very good for threading materials which create high temperatures when they are machined, and also improves the life of the tool. It can also be used for CNC machining, making it a good multi-use choice for threading. Conforming to rules set down by the International Standards Organisation, the E000 has a spiral point, designed to thread holes going all the way through the material.

For pre-drilling the hole, we have Dormer’s A002 drill with it’s specially designed 118 degree split point so the drill doesn’t wander over the surface of the material. You can be sure of a good, accurate hole which is a great start for creating a tight thread. The A002 is suitable for a wide range of material with a titanium nitride coated tip with increases tool life and gives you better performance when drilling harder materials.
